ST. REGIS LAKES HISTORY TOUR IN VOYAGEUR CANOES

The St. Regis Chain of Lakes is rich in history – in fact, these lakes were where Theodore Roosevelt fell in love with the outdoors, the place where P.T. Barnum took his vacations, and home to some revolutionary, in it’s time, medical research.  We’ll set out in our cedar-stripped, 6-8 person voyageur canoes with a MAC’s guide taking you through time along the way. Don’t forget to pack water and snacks for the trip!

COST IS $50 PER PADDLER – ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

GUIDED TRIP THROUGH THE SEVEN CARRIES

JULY 17TH – GUIDED TRIP THROUGH THE SEVEN CARRIES

Join the MAC’S crew for an adventure along the historic “Route of the Seven Carries.” We’ll  launch at Little Clear Pond, then journey through St. Regis Pond, Green Pond, Little Long Pond, Bear Pond, Bog Pond and finish in the St. Regis Chain of Lakes. This trip will provide great wildlife and bird viewing, the chance for a swim, and some “soft”history lessons along the way.

Participants should be prepared to carry their canoe and gear over several portages (don’t worry, we’ll be using Ultra-light Kevlar Canoes) – so wear sturdy footwear that you can get wet! Pack what you need to be comfortable outside including your lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, etc. - we’ll provide the rest.

The trip will begin from MAC’S in Lake Clear at 9am and we’ll plan to finish between 2 – 3pm. MAC’S will transport all canoes and gear and will shuttle drivers as needed.
