QUICK TRIP ON LITTLE CLEAR POND

Perfect for folks who are interested in spending a few hours on the water. Little Clear Pond will provide you with a great Adirondack experience full of wildlife viewing, swimming, and exploring.  Rental includes a tandem canoe or solo kayak, boat transportation to and from Little Clear Pond, paddles, and PFDs for up to a three-hour period.

Cost: $30 per canoe or kayak

Visitor’s staying at a rental property are encouraged to take advantage of our vacation rental deal. MAC’s Canoe Livery offers a 10% discount for canoe rentals of five or more consecutive days that are delivered directly to a vacation rental property in the greater Saranac Lake area. 2019 Trip and Event Schedule

MAC’S Canoe Livery in Lake Clear, NY offers canoe and kayak rentals, self-guided,  guided and specialty treks, paddling clinics and more. Join us for one of our scheduled treks listed below, feel free to come solo, bring your best friend or a large group of family or business associates.  MAC’S will assist you with expert advice, quality equipment and friendly, courteous service. All of the trips listed require advanced registration – so call today to reserve your spot! Other custom trips are available by reservation.


JULY

JULY 17TH – GUIDED TRIP THROUGH THE SEVEN CARRIES

Join the MAC’S crew for an adventure along the historic “Route of the Seven Carries.” We’ll  launch at Little Clear Pond, then journey through St. Regis Pond, Green Pond, Little Long Pond, Bear Pond, Bog Pond and finish in the St. Regis Chain of Lakes. This trip will provide great wildlife and bird viewing, the chance for a swim, and some “soft”history lessons along the way. 

Participants should be prepared to carry their canoe and gear over several portages (don’t worry, we’ll be using Ultra-light Kevlar Canoes) – so wear sturdy footwear that you can get wet! Pack what you need to be comfortable outside including your lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, etc. - we’ll provide the rest. 

The trip will begin from MAC’S in Lake Clear at 9am and we’ll plan to finish between 2 – 3pm. MAC’S will transport all canoes and gear and will shuttle drivers as needed.

COST IS $75 PER PADDLER – ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

JULY 26TH – SUNSET PADDLE ON LITTLE CLEAR POND

Ever imagine yourself paddling across a pristine Adirondack pond to a Loon serenade as the sun sets over St. Regis Mountain? Well imagine no more!

The MAC’S crew will get you outfitted in a canoe and lead you around Little Clear Pond, just in time for the sun to set over St. Regis Mountain. We’ll meet at MAC’S Canoe Livery at 5pm and will plan to be finished around 8pm. 

COST IS $35 PER PADDLER – ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.


AUGUST

AUGUST 3RD – ST. REGIS LAKES HISTORY TOUR IN VOYAGEUR CANOES

The St. Regis Chain of Lakes is rich in history – in fact, these lakes were where Theodore Roosevelt fell in love with the outdoors, the place where P.T. Barnum took his vacations, and home to some revolutionary, in it’s time, medical research.  We’ll set out in our cedar-stripped, 6-8 person voyageur canoes with a MAC’s guide taking you through time along the way. Don’t forget to pack water and snacks for the trip!

COST IS $50 PER PADDLER – ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

AUGUST 4th – SUNRISE PADDLE ON SOUTH CREEK

Experience an Adirondack sunrise from the seat of a canoe – need we say more? We’ll start by paddling out South Creek and into Middle Saranac Lake, just in time for the sun to crest the horizon. Bring your camera, water, favorite coffee or tea, snacks, and an extra layer.

We’ll meet at the South Creek Access (On State Route 3 between Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake) at 5:30am and will arrive back at the Launch before 8am.

COST IS $35 PER PADDLER – ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

AUGUST 7th – GUIDED TRIP FROM RAINBOW LAKE TO OSGOOD POND 

Join the MAC’S crew for an adventure from Rainbow Lake, through Jones Pond, to Osgood Pond. This trip will provide great small stream and lake paddling, wildlife and bird viewing, and some “soft” history lessons along the way. 

Participants should be prepared to get in the water – we’ll likely have to navigate some low water and maybe even a few beaver dams – so wear sturdy footwear that you can get wet! Pack what you need to be comfortable outside including your lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, etc. - we’ll provide the rest. 

The trip will begin from MAC’s  in Lake Clear, NY at 9am and we’ll plan to finish between 3 – 4pm. MAC’s will transport all canoes and gear and will shuttle drivers as needed.

Meet us at MAC’s for a moonlit paddle under the stars.  Listen to the loon serenade. We supply the boats and the ambiance – the rest is up to you!  We’ll meet at MAC’s Canoe Livery at 7pm and will plan to be finished around 10pm.
